Accommodations and What They Are Used For

Posted by Hotel Accommodation on February 17, 2011 at 4:20 am in Articles, Find a Room, Find Hotel, South African Holidays

The word accommodation means making a person comfortable while traveling. A person could be traveling abroad on a cruise ship, being transported to a prison to a facility, temporary shelter or housing, military housing, visiting family or friends, a dormitory, hostel, or anywhere else that provides a place to stay.

Accommodations provides not just a bed to sleep in or a place to stay, there are other things involved. There could be packages provided that would provide dinner, lunch, or breakfast. There could be a show or an event at the place the person is staying at.

For example, when a person books a cruise, it is called all-inclusive. This means everything that a person needs is provided. There is a bedroom, a shower, and living quarters like a mini kitchen, living room, or even an office. Drinks and food along with entertainment is provided. The same goes for hotel suites.

If a person was staying at a bed and breakfast, the person could have usage of the house and rent out a room along with meals being provided. The person would be allowed to walk around the property and enjoy the swimming pool or tennis courts for example. There might be family activities with the owner of the property.

When a person is in the military, a college dormitory, or even a hostel, the accommodations are sharing a room with a person but each person has their own bed, dresser, and a desk to do homework or use the computer. They will have their own closet or have to share and will have a little bit of space to make it personal.

The basis of hearing the word accommodations is just having things provided that a person is used to and being made as comfortable as possible.

The Definition of A Holiday

Posted by Hotel Accommodation on January 12, 2011 at 4:10 am in Uncategorized

In America a holiday is either Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, MLK Day, President’s Day, and anything else that is considered a holiday by official federal law.

Besides these holidays, Americans have other unofficial holidays. For example St. Patrick’s Day is widely celebrated along with Mother’s and Father’s Day. A person could create their own holiday when the start of Nascar season starts or baseball, football, hockey or any other sport imaginable. Super Bowl Sunday is the unofficial holiday in America in sports along with the World Series.

In other parts of the world, the definition of a holiday is the person’s version of a vacation. So, these countries would of course have official holidays as well as vacations. If a person is heard they holidayed in the South of France, then they are talking about their wonderful vacation they took.

No matter where in the world a person is, a holiday is time off from work. It is time to just get away from the world. Throw out the computer, cell phone, TV, and anything else that is electronic, and just close down the world.

A holiday can be a picnic in the park, walking a trail, catching up on major sleep, spending time with a spouse on a day trip, or even a fun, rewarding day with the kids.

A holiday can hold a special meaning to a person and their family. It can represent their culture and history of where they came from, it can represent religious beliefs, or it could represent a very significant part of world history.

Next time a person hears the word holiday, also think of a vacation. It almost means the same thing but a few minor differences. A holiday will always hold special meaning.

In America the meaning of a vacation can have numerous meanings. Usually it means time with friends and family. Getting away for a while from work and stress of regular every day life.

In other parts of the world, a vacation is the same thing as a holiday. In America, a holiday usually is a celebration with a special meaning. So, the rest of the world can have the best of both worlds.

Planning a real vacation takes time and money. Depending where the person wants to go or visit can take some time, patience, and money. If a person needed to take a plane trip to Europe for example, it might be best to look at packages that could help with the vacation.

These packages could have hotel, flight, renting a car, and places of interest to visit. Or if a person was just simply visiting, then look for special online deals that are much cheaper if dates are more flexible to take a vacation.

The same goes for vacationing with the family. Look for deals that have free meals and rooms for the kids. Look for discounted children’s tickets, then things that wanted to be done, won’t be missed.

A wedding can become a vacation as a family reunion and a wonderful vacation. One of the kids graduating from college can turn into a great vacation on catching up with family.  How about learning to scuba dive or snorkel? Things learned are a wonderful vacation experience to share with friends and family back home.

A vacation is relaxation, fun, learning new things, exploring the world, and relieving stress from our daily lives. It can be something so life changing and can create memories to last many life times. When planning a vacation just simply decide if there should be adventure, relaxation, or just a little fun.

Hotel Accommodation

A hotel is a place that has many rooms that are rented or
bought for one or many nights.  There are
so many different kinds that are hard to choose from for that perfect vacation
or business trip.  Some have the food
included in the price of the room.
Another might not, but have other features.

For example, like a fridge, microwave, coffee pot and many
more things that make life simpler.  But
all of these have phones, alarm clocks, and a TV.  The bigger hotels have swimming pools, restaurants,
childcare, fitness room and many more things.

A motel and a hotel are two different places that house
people that need a place to stay.  The
motel is what it sounds like a motor vehicle hotel.  This place is close to the road to make it
easier for a person that has to drive a long distance to rest for the night or
nights. It also has the rooms where it is open and the motorist can get to
their rooms from the parking lot.  This
is very convenient for that family that is on vacation that gets tired on the
way. They are mainly on the main roads and intersections to attract more
business.

Each hotel have different ratings because they have
different features; the more features the place has the more stars.  All hotels have to have it up to date with the
codes in the kitchen and rooms to keep their license.  There are a few steps to get the license in
the first place.  One of the steps is
that they have to have the place inspected every so often to keep it up to
code.  The appliances also have to be updated
every so often to keep everything up to date.

What Is Guest Lodging?

Posted by Hotel Accommodation on October 20, 2010 at 4:20 am in Articles, Find a Room, South African Holidays

A guest lodge is a small house that is away from the main house and is also a unit that is by itself.  Family or people that live on or in the house or building usually own this place.  They are just like a bed and breakfast and inn.

Any place that is somewhere that a family or someone can have more private than most hotels.  Guest lodging also has a lot of things to make the person’s stay even more enjoyable. They are a cheap alternative to a regular hotel.

If a person chooses to rent a cabin for their guest lodging to stay in, it has a kitchen and bathroom with a front room as well.  These are great if a person wants to have a pond or lake close by to go fishing.  It is also cozy for a bigger family that cannot stay in a normal room.  They are also good if someone wants to stay longer in an area than most hotels or great for people that are on a business trip.

Another of the guest lodge units is staying on a ranch.  This is always fun to do.  The family or person can learn how to ride a horse or wants to have the experience of getting up with the chickens.  It is a great place to learn responsibility and bring a family together.

There are so many places that are considered a guest lodge or guest lodging. It is hard to choose where one needs to stay at.  The person just has to look around and find the right one for the person.  Make sure that they find one that is in the price range that they want.  It is great to stay at these places because it really brings the family together.
